Dr. Katsia Cadeau has 10 years of teaching experience in K-12 education and 9 years in higher education. She earned her doctoral degree in Organizational and Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University and is a St. Thomas University Alumna. Dr. Cadeau has presented her research on classroom management and teaching science in elementary schools at various Florida Association of Teacher Educators (FATE) conferences for peer review. She has been active participant in the Title V- Transformational Leadership Committee, Project Success, and FIPSE- Science Education Grant as the project coordinator. Dr. Cadeau is currently an Associate Professor and the Elementary and Minor in Education Coordinator for the Institute for Education.

Serving as the Program Director, Dr. Cadeau has helped launch the Teachers Summer Recertification Workshops, which continues to grow yearly. Dr. Cadeau is the advisor and founder of the Future Teachers of America, the award-winning Most Improved Club. She was also the founder of Kreyol Nation, one of the largest and active clubs and was also the award-winning Club of the Year. FTA is actively involved in the community and recently, the Institute for Education has partnered with Technologies Leaders Initiatives& The Yaeger Foundations, where students are given the opportunity to complete field experiences in the K-12 sector while teaching Math, Science, and Technology, a STEM program.
