Center for Ethics
The Center for Ethics was established in 2000 through a generous gift from the Joseph and Marilyn Family Foundation. In early 2013, the Center was restructured and given greater prominence university-wide when the Center was placed under the direction of the University Provost. With the support of the Schools of Business and Law and the Department of Philosophy, the Ethics Center is better-positioned and has resources to promote the application of high ethical standards in business and government. With the focus grounded in applied ethics, the Center teaches, trains and offers technical assistance to public and private officials and decision-makers.
Ethics & Compliance Certificate Program
THE CENTER FOR ETHICS IS PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE A PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATE PROGRAM IN ETHICS AND COMPLIANCE
Program begins: February 2, 2016
St. Thomas University is the second academic institution in the country to offer a professional certificate program in Ethics and Compliance. The STU Center of Ethics will launch a 30-hour, web-based training program starting in February 2016 to enable program graduates to sit for a national examination to receive certificate as an ethics and compliance professional. Students will be required to complete three hours of online workshops each week taught by leading authorities in the field, including the Inspector General of Miami-Dade County, the former chairman of the Florida Commission on Ethics and the former Vice-President for Global Compliance at Ryder System. There are no prerequisites to enroll in the program but those currently working in ethics and compliance fields are most likely to benefit from this unique program, as well as those looking to embark on an exciting new career. Continuing education credits will be available. Early registration runs until January 18, 2016. For more information, please contact Robert Meyers at email@example.com or call the Center for Ethics at 305-628-6581.
