Pastoral Enrichment at St. Thomas

Why Pastoral Enrichment at St. Thomas?

For the past forty years, the School of Theology and Ministry at St. Thomas University has been educating and preparing men and women for full-time ministry in the Catholic Church and other denominations, initially through our MA in Pastoral Ministries and from Fall 2021 through the MA and PhD in Theology and Leadership in Ministry. We are known and recognized by local parishes & communities of faith for our formation of Christian leaders and efforts to foster evangelization and ministry.

Situated in an urban location with all the diverse gifts and challenges the greater Miami area provides, our programs have responded to the lived reality of the students we serve and their congregations. We are grateful for the gift and responsibility of being able to form and educate the next generation of Christian leaders for our richly diverse South Florida community, and beyond. It is our hope that our program can foster authentic encounters with Christ for all we serve so that they can go forth empowered to build the Kingdom of God and promote the values of the Gospel.

Thriving in Ministry will help to enrich pastoral work in a variety of contexts as ministry leaders are further equipped to respond to the real needs in their parishes and communities. What we have come to know is that the dynamics of the local church have changed, and these changes require all of us to rethink how we form, educate and accompany current and future pastors in their vocational response
