Education Department

Undergraduate students are prepared to enter the classroom after graduation through education course objectives aligned to state competencies. Course work is infused with ESOL training, technology, dyslexia and reading, and the use of a variety of assessment techniques. Applied classroom knowledge is gained through field-based experiences tied to the Florida Educator Accomplished Practices.

Unlike traditional education programs where new classes typically begin twice a year, St. Thomas offers “rolling admission.” Convenient evening and online classes are offered for the working professional.

For Graduate students, the school’s programs are designed for teachers who wish to continue to develop the knowledge and skills to prepare their students for life in the 21st Century. The courses in these programs are offered in a traditional format, and respond to the needs of contemporary education with an emphasis on elementary and secondary education teaching and administration.

Future offerings will include online courses for graduate programs as well as specialization in Reading and Special Education.
