The latest advisory from the National Hurricane Center has discontinued the Tropical Storm Watch south of Hallandale Beach, Fl.  Tropical storm and Category 1 hurricane conditions are expected in Broward and Palm Beach counties as the storm approaches.The St. Thomas University Emergency Operations team continues to monitor the path of Tropical Storm Nicole, and will be meeting periodically to discuss upcoming advisories from the National Hurricane Center.

As of 2:00pm, November 9, the St. Thomas University campus remains open, and will continue to operate as usual. All classes, events, and athletics are on their regular schedule.

If you are an STU student in a situation where you believe you are unsafe to travel to campus, please remain in place, and reach out to your professors.

The St. Thomas University Emergency Operations team continues to monitor the development and path of Tropical Storm Nicole, and will be meeting periodically to discuss public advisories from the National Hurricane Center.

As of 5:30am, November 9, the St. Thomas University campus remains open, and will continue to operate as usual. All classes, events, and athletics are on their regular schedule.

The areas south of Hallandale Beach, Fl, are under a Tropical Storm Watch. Please, remain vigilant, as tropical storm conditions are possible in the next 48 hours. Wind gusts of up to 35 miles per hour and heavy rains are possible.
