American Immigration Lawyers Association Student Chapter

The American Immigration Lawyers Association ("AILA") is the national association of more than 13,000 attorneys and law professors who practice and teach Immigration law. AILA has the tools and resources to assist in stating and maintaining a career in Immigration Law.

The mission of the AILA Student Chapter ("AILA SC") is to educate students on the American immigration system and how the ever-changing laws are always continuing to make a national and global impact. We will achieve our goals by inviting professionals to St. Thomas University School of Law to speak about current topics in immigration law, including proposals in Congress and actions of administrative agencies. We strive to help individuals in our community by hosting Citizenship and Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals ("DACA") drives. We also hope to connect students with career opportunities that will allow them to reach their potential in the area of Immigration and Nationality Law. Ultimately, it is the AILA SC's goal to create a network of students and community participants who all share common interests in Immigration Law.
