Each VITA volunteer is IRS trained and certified to handle a wide variety of tax issues in order to provide the best possible service to our clients. Under attorney supervision, volunteers work efficiently and as a team to make sure any and all of your tax issues are resolved in a timely manner.

Our services include preparing many different IRS forms, such as:

  • Wages, salaries, etc. (Form W-2)
  • Interest Income (Form 1099-INT)
  • Dividends Received (Form 1099-DIV)
  • State Tax Refunds (Form 1099-G)
  • Unemployment Benefits (Form 1099-G)
  • IRA Distributions (Form 1099-R)
  • Pension Income (Forms 1099-R, RRB-1099, CSA-1099)
  • Social Security Benefits (Form SSA-1099)
  • Simple Capital Gain/Loss (Form 1099-B) (subject to limitation)
  • Sale of Home (Form 1099-S)
  • Self-employed Income (Form 1099-MISC) (subject to limitation)

Please note: Due to the complexity of some of the issues, you return may be selected to be processed using our Virtual VITA program, in which you will leave your documents and return at a later time to pick up your return.

 

Important: Volunteers are only capable of resolving tax issues that fall under the scope of the IRS provided training. As such, some of the tax issues that arise from your tax return may be outside of the scope of the VITA. Some of the services we CANNOT provide at this VITA location include:

  • Health Savings Accounts (Form 1099-SA)
  • Complex Capital Gains or Losses (Schedule D) (subject to limitation)
  • Request of Social Security Number (Form SS-5)
  • Non-Deductible IRA (Form 8606)
  • Minor’s Investment Income (Form 8615)
  • Determination of Worker Status for Purposes of Federal Employment Taxes and Income Tax Withholding (Form SS-8)
  • Premium Tax Credits (Form 8962: Parts 4 &5)
