St. Thomas University School of Law has collaborated with St. Thomas University, Miami Dade College and Lynn University to offer students an opportunity to earn a combined Bachelor's Degree and Juris Doctor Degree. The Accelerated Law Program allows students to graduate with a Bachelor's degree and Juris Doctor degree in six years instead of the traditional seven years.

“The moment I walked into the Supreme Court, I realized how fortunate I was to have this once in a lifetime opportunity,” stated Catherine Yepes, who was assigned to work with Justice Alan Lawson. “Prior to this distinguished internship, I did not have any legal experience. Now, I can say that I have been exposed to dissimilar fields, encompassing diverse factual scenarios and laws. Most importantly, I gained invaluable insight into the meticulous work that creates the foundation of our judicial process.

My motivation for writing this article was my best friend who had invested in Bitcoin and Professor Moore who gave me the idea for my topic. My best friend still has money invested in bitcoin, and we usually talk about the volatility of the cryptocurrency and what would solve that issue. Moreover, Professor Moore inspired me to write this paper due to her personal experience regarding bitcoin.
It is a tremendous honor being published as a student and I am extremely grateful that my article was picked for publication.
