Print, Copy, Scan, Fax

Print

STU students, faculty, and staff can print at the Library from any of our computer areas as well as from their own personal notebooks when on-campus. We have three printing stations located throughout the Library in proximity to the computer areas. Use of the Library’s printers for the reproduction of copyrighted material must comply with U.S. Copyright Law.

Users are allocated up to $75.00 (or 1,500 pages) for printing each semester. Once your credit balance is depleted, you can purchase additional pages by following these instructions. OIT policy provides that only currently enrolled students and alumni who obtain an STU ID card may use print services.

Wireless Printing

Students using their own laptops on campus are required to perform the following:

  1. Send an email to mobileprint@stu.edu
  2. A “MobilePrint notification: All of your documents are ready for release” will be sent back to you.
  3. Register your STU Bobcat email
  4. Log into Pharos
  5. All print jobs will appear in the queue (print jobs remain in the queue for up to 2 hours)

It is recommended students save the URL for the Pharos Print Center. Documents can be uploaded to the queue by either sending the document via email to mobileprint@stu.edu or uploading directly onto the Pharos Print Center.

Alumni are required to add funds to their account in order to print.

If you need technical assistance, please contact OIT via email at helpdesk@stu.edu or by calling the OIT Help Desk at (305) 628-6610.

Copy and Scan

We have one photocopier behind the stairs on the first floor of the Library. Copies cost $0.10 per page. The photocopier can also be used to scan to email. Scanning is free. Select the Fax/Scan button on the machine, type in your email in the prompted box and follow the on-screen instructions. Once all information is entered just hit the big blue START button. It does not provide a confirmation page but you will automatically receive it to your email. Use of the Library’s copier/scanner for the reproduction of copyrighted material must comply with U.S. Copyright Law.

Fax

There is a fax machine located in near the elevator on the first floor of the Library. Fax services only work locally using a 305 or 954 area code or toll-free fax number. You cannot fax to long distance numbers. The use of the fax machine is solely for student purposes.
