What things do I bring to my Residence Hall?

This list is a general overview of items that typically are used in the residence halls. We recommend that your student consult with his or her roommate in order to determine who might bring certain items due to space and economic considerations. This is not an all-inclusive list; if you or your student is unsure about an item, please contact Residence Life & Housing at (305) 628-6554.

Linens

  • bath, hand towels and washcloths
  • extra-long twin sheets and pillow cases (Cascia, University Inn and Villanova 1st, 2nd & 3rd floors)
  • deep pockets full sheets (Villanova 4th floor)
  • mattress pad
  • blankets
  • pillow
  • comforter

Personal Items

  • toothbrush and toothpaste
  • brush and comb
  • shaving items
  • hair styling products/appliances
  • shampoo and conditioner
  • bath soap
  • bathroom caddy
  • shower shoes
  • dental floss
  • sweater/warm clothing
  • Curling Iron (automatic shut-off)

Laundry and Clothing Care

  • detergent
  • fabric softener and stain remover
  • laundry basket or laundry bag
  • hangers
  • iron and ironing board
  • broom
  • trash basket
  • credit/debit cards or coins (quarters 0.25cents)

Other Items

  • first aid supplies

  • 22-inch television with shielded coaxial cable

  • toasters or toaster ovens
  • George Forman grills
  • rice cookers (or any kitchen appliance with a heating element)
  • space heaters
  • freezer
  • halogen lamps
  • extra beds
  • incense or candles
  • alcohol (unless 21 years of age or older)
  • drugs or drug paraphernalia
  • weapons
  • fireworks, firecrackers, flammable liquids and other explosive or incendiary devices
  • Items which are illegal to possess
  • pets (fish in 10 gals. max tank only)
