About St. Thomas University Bands
The St. Thomas University Marching Band performs at St. Thomas University Bobcats home football and basketball games, and a host of exciting on-campus and community events throughout the year.
St. Thomas University Concert Band
The St. Thomas University Concert Band produces a Holiday Concert in the fall and a Spring Concert in April.
St. Thomas University Basketball Band
The Bobcat Basketball Band performs at STU Men’s and Women’s Basketball games. The BBB provides school spirit, electricity, and entertainment at STU athletics and community events.
Eligibility
All actively enrolled students at St. Thomas University are eligible to enroll and participate in the STU Band program. Membership is open to winds, brass, percussion, and color guard members. Band members must enroll into the BAND 103 course (1 unit) to participate.
Students who have never played an instrument can join the Bobcat Cubs program and learn to play, becoming eligible to join the band in one year.
Rehearsals
During the school year, the band meets Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 4:30 to 6pm in the Bobcat Hall of Fame.
Academic Credit
Academic credit is necessary for participation in band. This applies to all curriculum electives. Students interested in participating in band must register for the 1unit course (University 103, 203, or 303).
Attendance
STU band members are required to attend all rehearsals and performances for all ensembles.
Band Camp: Fall ’22 August 11-19, 2022
All STU band members are required to report for the entirety of band camp.
