Band Camp

The STUMB marching band season begins with an approximately 1.5 week-long band camp beginning before the start of the Fall semester. If you plan to live in campus residence halls, you will move into your assigned dorm room for the year on the evening prior to band camp, earlier than other non-band non-student athletes. Full participation in band camp is required for STUMB membership. During band camp, students begin the lengthy process of rehearsing music and marching drill for the upcoming football season. Band camp provides a phenomenal opportunity to build community, to forge lasting friendships, and to acclimate to camps life before the standard academic calendar commences.

Rehearsals

During the school year, the STUMB rehearses Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays from 4:30pm-6pm at the athletic practice fields on STU’s campus, as well as in the Bobcat Hall of Fame.

Academic credit is necessary for participation in marching band. This applies to all curriculum electives. Students interested in participating in the Marching Band must register for the 1-credit course marching band course through Biscayne College (University Band Mus 103, 203, 303, or 403). These classes are cross-listed and both correspond to the same rehearsal schedule.
