Monitoring Hurricane Milton

Tomorrow, Friday, October 11, St. Thomas University will be back to regular operation, with all classes, activities, and athletics to be held in person, and on campus.

All faculty and staff are expected to report to campus.

The Facilities essential personnel team is on campus today to assess and repair any minor damage caused by Hurrican Milton. The STU Emergency Operations Team will continue to monitor any weather-related events, and update you as necessary.

The St. Thomas University Emergency Operations Team has concluded a webinar with the National Weather Service and Miami-Dade County Emergency Management.

Out of an abundance of caution, there will be no classes after Noon, today.
Non-essential employees and offices will also close at Noon, today.

There will be no classes on Thursday, and only essential personnel are expected to report to campus tomorrow.
If there are any concerns or issues, please contact your supervisor.

Please, stay up to date with weather conditions and exercise safety precautions. Your personal safety and that of your family a re paramount.

After the latest update from Miami-Dade County Emergency Operations Center (EOC), the St. Thomas University campus will remain open for in-person classes tomorrow, Wednesday, until 4pm.

Out of an abundance of caution, all classes have been suspended starting at 4pm Wednesday, and throughout Thursday.

On Thursday, only essential personnel are expected to report to campus.
If there are any concerns or issues, please contact your supervisor.

Please, stay up to date with weather conditions and exercise safety precautions. Your personal safety and that of your family are paramount.

The St. Thomas University Emergency Operations Team continues to follow the development of Hurricane Milton, and will update the Community as the storm progresses and more information becomes available. STU is monitoring updates from the Miami-Dade County EOC and the National Weather Service.

The STU campus will remain open today, Tuesday, with all classes and campus operations proceeding as scheduled.

We will issue another update this afternoon concerning Wednesday.

All students and personnel should monitor their local conditions and act accordingly.

As always individuals with extenuating circumstances should contact their supervisors or Deans.

Currently, the STU campus will remain open tomorrow, Tuesday, October 8th, and classes and campus operations will proceed as scheduled. We will issue another update tomorrow, mid-morning.
