By September 17, 2019College of Law, STU News

The results of the July 2019 Florida Bar Exam were released this week and St. Thomas Law continues to improve its first time bar passage rate with  71.4% of our 119 graduates who sat for the exam earning a passing score. The score lands us among the top six law schools in Florida ahead of Florida Coastal School of Law (71%),  Nova Southeastern School of Law (65.9%), Florida A&M (61.1%), Barry University School of Law (57.8%), and Ave Maria School of Law (52.6%).  It also marks a notable increase from the February 2019 and July 2018  passage rates.

Dean Tamara Lawson expressed her gratitude to the St. Thomas Law community and noted that everyone had a hand in the positive results achieved by our graduates.

“Bar passage is a team sport, and I recognize that every faculty member and every staff member has a role to play in our students’ success.  Congratulations to our graduates and their efforts on the exam,” stated Dean Lawson.

The law school family will have now have the pleasure of welcoming our bar-passers and their families back to campus for our traditional  swearing-in ceremony to be held on Tuesday, September 24th in our Moot Court Room.

St. Thomas Law remains committed to student success both in law school and beyond. Using an interactive and cooperative approach to learning, our unique academic success programs assist students in developing the requisite skills for success in both the study and the practice of law.
