Professor Casey M. Reiter, Associate Professor and Director of the Legal Writing Program, presented at a national virtual workshop titled "Teaching Process in the Classroom and Bringing Awareness to Your Own Research and Writing Process." The one-day event, co-hosted by the University of Florida and the Legal Writing Institute, focused on process-oriented legal writing pedagogy.

Her presentation, "Beyond Office Hours: Using AI as a Self-Assessment Tool in Legal Writing," explored how AI can be used as a self-assessment tool to enhance student learning—not as a shortcut, but as a means of developing professional judgment, improving writing quality, and preparing students for modern legal practice.

The workshop centered on forward-thinking teaching strategies—like scaffolding, collaboration, and intentional process design—to meet the evolving needs of Gen-Z students. It was a fantastic opportunity to highlight STU Law’s commitment to innovative legal writing instruction.
