Clinical Program

The College of Law’s Experiential Learning Program provides students with individualized expertise and hands-on legal experience under the supervision of our clinics and externship faculty, who are also practicing attorneys, judges, or specialists in their fields.

Law students learn to work with clients, the courts, and opposing counsel, and to develop litigation, legislative advocacy, and transactional skills to solve real problems for individuals and society.

Participating in an Experiential Learning course is one of the most memorable and rewarding aspects of your law school journey. It is the bridging of students to practitioners. Some students elect to enroll in in-house clinics; others choose to participate in externships. Each course provides opportunities to develop crucial skills for the practice of law.

*First‑year students in good academic standing are eligible for selective placements the summer after their first year.
