Dean’s Message
Welcome to St. Thomas University College of Law!
First and foremost, congratulations on choosing to pursue a career in law. By choosing law school, you have chosen a profession dedicated to justice, service, and leadership.
Over the next three years, you will be challenged intellectually, strengthened in character, and prepared to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. There will be moments of uncertainty and moments of triumph, but through it all, know that you will not walk this journey alone.
You are joining St. Thomas University College of Law at an exciting time in our history. Together, we are building a law school recognized for academic excellence, innovation, advocacy, and student success. We are a close-knit community of students, faculty, staff, and alumni committed to pursuing excellence in teaching, scholarship, service, and the formation of ethical, compassionate lawyers and leaders.
At St. Thomas University College of Law, you are more than a student; you are part of a family that is deeply invested in your success. Our accomplished faculty are exceptional teachers, scholars, and mentors who will challenge, encourage, and support you throughout your legal education. What truly distinguishes us is our commitment to personalized, one-on-one support. That is our greatest strength. We know our students, believe in their potential, and are committed to helping each of you succeed academically, professionally, and personally.
Our commitment is reflected in the accomplishments of our students and graduates, including the highest July first-time bar passage rate in our history, a #4 national ranking in Mock Trial, a #17 national ranking in Moot Court (#2 among Florida law schools), national recognition for preparing graduates dedicated to public interest careers, and alumni who include the largest cohort of female Hispanic judges in the nation.
I encourage you to become involved, build lasting relationships, seek out mentors, and embrace every opportunity to learn, serve, and lead. The knowledge you gain here is important, but your integrity, resilience, compassion, and character will define the lawyer and the leader you become.
We are honored that you have chosen St. Thomas University College of Law. I look forward to celebrating your accomplishments over the next three years and welcoming you into our proud community of alumni.
God Bless, and Go Bobcats!
The Honorable Tarlika Nunez-Navarro
Dean & Professor of Law
