2L Lewis Menendez has been selected for the prestigious Florida Supreme Court Fellows Program for the Spring Semester. When asked what he hopes to gain from the fellowship, he shared:
"I am very grateful for the opportunity to serve as a Florida Supreme Court Fellow this spring. I’m excited to learn how cases are evaluated and resolved at Florida’s highest court, strengthen my legal research and writing skills, and observe oral arguments. I also look forward to learning from the justices, staff attorneys, and court professionals throughout this experience."
Lewis earned a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Columbia University, where he also played collegiate baseball. At STU Law, he has distinguished himself academically, receiving seven CALI Book Awards during his 1L year and receiving the Honorable Peter R. Palermo Scholarship. His career goal is to practice civil litigation.

This week marked the inaugural Transactional Law Team tryouts, with an exceptional level of student interest and participation. Candidates were evaluated through a rigorous two-part process, which included drafting a transactional agreement followed by live negotiations designed to assess client advocacy, strategic thinking, and practical deal-making skills.
The live negotiation rounds were judged by the Transactional Law Team Chairs, Justin Fisher (3L), Bar Sadeh (3L), and Kayle Smith (3L), who evaluated participants on professionalism, issue-spotting, reasoning, and negotiation strategy. The level of preparation and performance exceeded expectations, and this inaugural tryout established a strong foundation for the transactional law program at STU!

St. Thomas University’s College of Law unveiled its new Judicial Wall of Honor, celebrating 52 alumni who have served or currently serve as judges across the nation. The special event brought many of them back to campus — some for the first time in decades — to honor their achievements and inspire future generations of STU law students.
