English
The English major at St. Thomas University offers students the opportunity to explore not only the traditional American and European narratives, but also the literature of the Caribbean, Latin America, and Asia. With its focus on the creation of critical analyses within a vibrant academic community, the major also permits students to bring in their own interests into the STU classroom. Classes on the Literature of Crime, the History of Horror, and Global Humor extend the study of English into a robust Cultural Studies program whose primary aim is to explore the impact culture and society have on the development of both classic and contemporary knowledge.
