Visiting our beautiful 80-acre campus in Miami Gardens, FL is one of the best ways to experience the Bobcat Life. Join us on campus for an individual visit or event where you and your family will take a golf cart tour of campus, meet with an admissions counselor, and see what your future can be! After visiting, you’ll be eligible for a $4,000 Campus Visit Award once admitted to STU.

At STU, we make the application process fast and easy! Our application can be completed in under 10 minutes, and all you need to do is answer basic questions and upload your transcript/high school grades.

You can apply to STU using either our free application or listing St. Thomas University on your Common App. We admit students on a rolling basis, which means the sooner you apply, the sooner you’ll receive your admissions decision!

Once you’ve been admitted to STU, it’s time to claim your spot in the Bobcat Family! Log in to your Admissions Portal to submit your $200 non-refundable enrollment deposit to guarantee your financial aid offer and officially become an STU student. Housing signups, orientation dates, and course registration are all first-come, first-served, so be sure to confirm your enrollment ASAP to get your first choices!

Admissions Requirements

To complete your application for admission to STU, you’ll need to submit:

  • Our free application or the Common App
  • Your high school transcript; unofficial transcripts are accepted as long as it contains all your grades, your name, and your school’s name

Your admissions application is also your scholarship application, so you will automatically be considered for all scholarships after applying. All financial aid is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to complete your app as soon as possible

Test Optional Policy

STU is fully test optional, which means SAT/ACT/CLT scores are not needed to apply. Additional admissions consideration may be given to applicants with GPAs below 2.3 who submit their test scores. Test scores can also be used for advanced class placement.

Affordability

STU is one of the most affordable and accessible universities in the South Florida region and 100% of first-year students receive financial aid. We are proud to offer scholarships and resources to help manage the price of college for students and families. Our institutional scholarships and grants are renewable for all four years of study!

Check out our Financial Aid and Scholarships webpage to see how affordable an STU education can be! To qualify for additional federal and state aid, you must include St. Thomas University on your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) using our school code 001468. We recommend filing your FAFSA as soon as possible after completing your STU application.

Advanced Placement (AP) Credit Policy

Students must earn a score of 3 or above on their AP exam to receive college credits from STU. Official scores must be sent to STU through College Board to be considered for credit.

International Baccalaureate (IB) Credit Policy

STU recognizes the International Baccalaureate Degree and awards advanced standing credits for scores of 4 or better on International Baccalaureate higher level examinations. Official scores must be sent to STU through International Baccalaureate to be considered for credit

Cambridge (AICE) Credit Policy

Students must earn a score of e or above on their Cambridge exam to receive college credits from STU. Official scores must be sent to STU through Cambridge to be considered for credit.
