Professor Lloyd A. Mitchell is an Associate Professor of Accounting at the Gus Machado College of Business and Director of the BBA Accounting Program. He teaches Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Auditing, Governmental Accounting, and Business Policy, preparing students for CPA readiness and professional success. A CPA and Chartered Global Management Accountant, he holds an MBA in Accounting from the University of Miami and brings experience in auditing, public accounting, and corporate finance, including roles as an internal auditor for an international airline and controller for a Miami‑based company.

His scholarship includes work on accounting education, insurance, and cross‑cultural learning, along with service on the editorial board of the Journal of Multidisciplinary Research. He has taught internationally in China and Cuba and is an active member of the AICPA and FICPA, serving as liaison for annual FICPA scholarships. His mentorship helped a student team earn first place globally in the Business Strategy Game.
