Professor Laura J. Courtley‑Todd is an Assistant Professor of Sports Administration and Program Director for the BBA in Sports Administration at the Gus Machado College of Business. She holds an M.S. in Sports Administration from St. Thomas University and a B.S. in Recreation Education from The Ohio State University. Named one of the Top 50 Most Influential Women in South Florida Sports by the Miami Herald, she previously served as STU’s Athletic Director for 20 years, leading major growth in varsity sports, facilities, academic success, and championship‑level events.
She received the 2024 STU Faculty Excellence in Teaching Award and teaches courses in Sports Facilities & Event Management, Legal Aspects of Sports, and Governance of Intercollegiate Athletics. She advises more than 150 students annually and serves as faculty advisor for the Sports Administration Club. Her industry experience includes work with the Miami Dolphins, Miami HEAT, the Orange Bowl Committee, the Jason Taylor Foundation, multiple Super Bowls, and the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix.
