Dr. Colin Roche is the Dean of Biscayne College for the Liberal Arts and Social Sciences at St. Thomas University in Miami, Florida. An award-winning educator, Dean Roche is recognized for his commitment to academic excellence, student engagement, and innovative teaching methodologies. He is an active member of numerous professional organizations and has dedicated his career to advancing knowledge in culinary and hospitality education, tertiary education, and the scholarship of teaching and learning (SOTL).

A prolific scholar, Dr. Roche has authored numerous articles and co-authored Culinary Educators’ Teaching Tools & Tips, a comprehensive resource for educators in the field. His expertise extends beyond academia, as he frequently lectures and consults for schools and businesses nationwide, helping to bridge the gap between industry practices and educational instruction. Through his leadership at Biscayne College, Dr. Roche continues to champion interdisciplinary collaboration, experiential learning, and the professional development of both students and faculty.

Passionate about accessible education, Dean Roche leverages digital platforms to reach a broader audience. He hosts a YouTube channel, maintains an educational blog, and produces three educational podcasts, furthering his mission to enhance teaching effectiveness and student success. Dr. Roche also holds numerous prestigious certifications, including the American Culinary Federation’s Certified Executive Chef (CEC) and Certified Culinary Educator (CCE), the National Restaurant Association’s Foodservice Management Professional (FMP), and the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute’s Certified Hospitality Educator (CHE).
