Dr. Robert T. Epling is an Associate Professor of Sports Administration and Director of the MBA and MS in Sports Administration programs at the Gus Machado College of Business. He has more than twenty years of academic leadership, including two terms as Acting Chair. Dr. Epling earned his Ph.D. from the University of Tennessee, where his dissertation became the first scholarly study on the racial desegregation of SEC football.
Before joining St. Thomas University in 2016, he taught at Reinhardt University, Berry College, Capital University, and the University of West Georgia. At Reinhardt, he founded and grew the Sport Studies program into the university’s largest major and later served twice as Dean of the College of Education.
