Dr. Samer Hassan is a Professor of Culinary Arts, Tourism & Hospitality Management and Program Director at the Gus Machado College of Business. A global hospitality educator with more than 20 years of academic and industry experience, he holds a Ph.D. in Hotel Management jointly completed at Helwan University and Florida International University. Before joining STU, he spent over two decades as a Professor of Hotel Management at Johnson & Wales Universitandso taught at FIU. He teaches courses in hospitality operations, customer experience, revenue management, marketing, human resources, tourism & hospitality law, and leadership.
Dr. Hassan’s expertise centers on technology, AI, and guest‑service innovation in global hospitality. He has authored numerous case studies and publications on hospitality ethics and economic impact and holds industry credentials including CHA, CHE, CHIA instructor, and CGSP. A highly recognized educator, he has earned top national awards and remains committed to mentoring students as they prepare for careers in hospitality.
