Amber Tracey
Professor Amber Tracey joined St. Thomas University Benjamin L. Crump College of Law as an Assistant Professor of Legal Writing with a professional background steeped in the field. Professor Tracey served Miami-Dade County as a Senior Legal Advisor, where she provided advisement in legal matters concerning judicial and court staff ethics; judicial administration; trial procedure; and the management of high-profile cases.
As the Director of the Research and Analysis Division for the Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Florida, Professor Tracey supervised a team of attorneys assigned to perform complex legal research and writing projects for the judiciary and the Administrative Office of the Courts. In this capacity, Professor Tracey developed and presented a plethora of CLE and CJE courses relating to judicial and court staff ethics and was a regular presenter at the annual 40-hour Civil Traffic Hearing Officer Training. The Office of the State Courts Administrator appointed Professor Tracey to serve on a focus committee to co-author the Civil Traffic Hearing Officer Education Manual, used as the training module approved by the Supreme Court of Florida.
Professor Tracey is admitted to practice in Florida and before Supreme Court of the United States.
