Deena Sturm
Professor Deena R. Sturm is an Assistant Professor of Legal Writing at St. Thomas University College of Law. She brings over 15 years of combined legal practice and teaching experience to her role at St. Thomas University College of Law. She specializes in intellectual property law, legal writing, and contract drafting. Professor Sturm has served as an adjunct professor at numerous institutions, including Purdue Global Law School and St. Francis School of Law. She has also created legal studies programs at the high school level and coached mock trial teams.
In private practice, Professor Sturm practiced at several international and national law firms in both New York and Florida, focusing on patent and trademark prosecution, intellectual property litigation, and licensing.
Professor Sturm earned her J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where she was a Dean’s Merit Scholar and served as Symposia Editor of the Cardozo Arts and Entertainment Law Journal. She also holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science from York University in Toronto, Canada.
Professor Sturm is admitted to practice law in New York, Florida, and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Her writing has been published in The Intellectual Property Strategist and World Trademark Yearbook, and she is a contributor to Above the Law.
