Jorge R. Delgado is an Assistant United States Attorney in the Southern District of Florida, where he has served in the Asset Forfeiture Division and Appellate Division. In the Appellate Division, he has briefed 14 appeals and argued three times before the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. In the Asset Forfeiture Division, he managed more than 100 criminal and civil forfeiture cases, including the forfeiture of two planes used by the Nicolás Maduro regime in violation of U.S. sanctions.

Before joining the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Mr. Delgado clerked for five United States District and Magistrate Judges in the Southern District of Florida—Judges Jonathan Goodman, Chris M. McAliley, Patricia A. Seitz, Jose E. Martinez, and Beth Bloom—and for U.S. Circuit Judge Johnnie B. Rawlinson of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. His clerkships followed seven years in private practice at Kluger, Kaplan, Silverman, Katzen & Levine, P.L. and Arnstein & Lehr LLP, where he litigated a wide range of matters before state and federal trial and appellate courts.

Mr. Delgado graduated as valedictorian from St. Thomas University School of Law in 2010, where he earned eight Book Awards, served as a staff editor of the St. Thomas Law Review, was a Student Instructor of Property and Civil Procedure, won the St. Thomas Moot Court Intramural Competition, and was named Second Best Overall Oralist in the Thurgood Marshall Moot Court Competition. He currently teaches Florida Civil Procedure Practice and Appellate Advocacy and continues to coach moot court teams.

Mr. Delgado was born in Havana, Cuba, and was raised in South Florida since the age of ten.
