Peter Forand

Peter Forand is currently the Chief of the Criminal Division in the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of Florida. Prior to his current position, Peter served in the U.S. Attorney’s Office as Chief of Economic and Environmental Crimes, Chief of Money Laundering, and Chief of Major Crimes. Peter also served as Deputy Chief in both the Economic and Environmental Crimes and Major Crimes Sections. Peter was the recipient of a Director’s Award from the U.S. Secret Service and the Chief’s Investigative Excellence Award from the Internal Revenue Service-Criminal Investigation. Prior to joining the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Peter worked at Hale and Dorr LLP in Boston, Massachusetts and Greenberg Traurig, P.A. in Miami, Florida. He also clerked for federal district court judges in the Southern District of Florida and the Western District of Louisiana and for a federal appellate judge in the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals. Peter received his undergraduate degree from Boston College, summa cum laude, and his law degree from New York University.
