Peter Martino teaches Civil Procedure, Sales, and Transnational Litigation. He joined STU College of Law as an Adjunct Professor in Spring 2026. Following his inaugural semester, he was appointed to the tenure-track faculty as an Assistant Professor.

Professor Martino brings to his classes a unique combination of military service, entrepreneurial leadership, senior federal executive experience, legal practice, and scholarship. He earned a B.S. in Systems Engineering, with merit, from the U.S. Naval Academy, subsequently serving as a nuclear submarine officer.

After Naval service, Professor Martino quickly rose to CEO of a financial software company, leading it for 10 years through its successful acquisition by a publicly traded French corporation. He then founded another company before being appointed by President George W. Bush to the Senior Executive Service, where he served as COO for the Office of Critical Infrastructure Protection at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

Professor Martino next earned a J.D., cum laude, from Georgetown Law. He started practicing law at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan in New York City and later founded Honos Law PLLC, focusing on complex commercial litigation, business law, appellate advocacy, and trademark law. He also founded a retail and e-commerce company twice recognized on the Inc. 5000 list of America’s fastest-growing private companies.

Professor Martino’s first book, Resurrection on Trial (Sophia Institute Press, 2026), examines the historical evidence for the Resurrection through the framework of a judicial opinion, applying principles of evidence, witness credibility, burdens of proof, and competing explanations. He is admitted to practice in New York, Connecticut, and the District of Columbia. His teaching emphasizes legal analysis, practical advocacy, and preparing students to excel.
