The STU College of Law welcomed more than 150 members of our community to the historic launch of the Siegfried Wiessner Human Flourishing Distinguished Lecture Series.
The inaugural lecture was imparted by Catholic University Professor of Law Veryl Miles. Entitled “Catholic Social Teaching and the Law: Helping, Healing and Restoring Hope,” the lecture highlighted the social teaching’s emphasis on the individual and collective duties to help the outcast and the “least of us,” across the spectrum of economics, migration policy, and other areas of life. Professor Miles received the “Human Flourishing” sculpture, designed by master sculptor Santiago Medina, from Professor Siegfried Wiessner.
