Book Fair with Beneche

For the second year in a row, The Eye of the Bobcat students are on their way to the Miami Dade Book Fair, which takes place on the week of November 15-22, 2026, located in downtown at the Miami Dade College-Wolfson Campus.

The event is one of Miami’s biggest cultural experiences featuring authors and books for all. In an effort to connect with readers, Professor Melissa Beneche is collaborating with M.J. Fierve, Read Caribbean coordinator, author and editor of her own right.

“Ever since I learned that Miami had a book fair (I was seventeen), I have been excited to join the community of book lovers,” Professor Beneche replied.

“Literature is important to me, so I’m grateful that one of the largest celebrations of literature takes place in our beautiful sun-soaked Miami, in one of the nation’s leading states in book bans.”

Professor Beneche’s goal for this year’s book fair is to encourage and foster students’ abilities to learn something new and reflect on the things that will matter to them the most.

“Students who take part in the Miami Book Fair get to engage directly with acclaimed authors and see the crucial ways literature engages the greater public and contributes-and often shapes-public discourse.”

For years, the book fair has been around, causing students all around the world to not only meet great people, but to represent a version of themselves that they want to become.

She has always been a big fan of books and literature, which are the two main categories that she focuses on the most. The Miami Book Fair is not only an experience that students can enjoy, but it is also something that can be unforgettable to them.
