The Marching Bobcats

The Marching Bobcats are the official marching and spirit band of St. Thomas University, bringing music, energy, school spirit, leadership, and pride to campus and the South Florida community.

The Marching Bobcats are entering an exciting new era at St. Thomas University. Our goal is to build a disciplined, energetic, student-centered collegiate band program that represents STU with pride while creating meaningful opportunities for musicians throughout South Florida.

The band performs at all home football games, select men’s and women’s basketball games, University events, community events, and other performances as requested.

Band Scholarships

St. Thomas University offers band scholarship opportunities to eligible students who commit to participating in the Marching Bobcats and the university concert band program.

All experience levels are encouraged to inquire.

In addition, a $4,000 grant is given to all students who visit our Admissions Department and take the campus tour.

Note: Scholarship awards may be increased or reduced based on program participation, academic eligibility, attendance, performance, conduct, and other requirements outlined by the University and band program.

Welcome to the St. Thomas University Marching Bobcats!

You are not simply joining a band. You are joining a developing tradition and helping establish the culture, discipline, and identity that future generations of Marching Bobcats will inherit. Our goal is to create a visible, student-centered, leadership-driven collegiate marching band known for musical excellence, energy, professionalism, service, and pride. Every rehearsal, performance, and official function is an opportunity to represent St. Thomas University and strengthen the legacy of the Marching Bobcats.

My hope is that your experience in this program helps you become a stronger musician, a more dependable teammate, and a more confident leader. You will be challenged, supported, and expected to grow. In return, I ask that you bring your best effort, communicate honestly, accept coaching, and leave the program better than you found it.

Students receiving band scholarships are expected to participate in both.

The current tentative rehearsal schedule is Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 5:00–8:00 PM.

The program is actively seeking brass, woodwinds, percussion, and guard members.
