The BS in Applied Mathematics & Data Science at STU is designed to provide students with a solid background and general comprehension of the role and application of mathematics in various disciplines and areas requiring quantitative analysis.

Program Overview

Interested in studying engineering? This program is tailored for international students, and/or students who prefer in-person classes. Transfers are available to Florida International University or other universities. All remaining students apply for dual enrollment with the University of North Dakota (UND) majoring in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering. Graduates will receive a BS in Applied Mathematics and Data Science from STU, and an Engineering degree from UND.

In the Classroom

In labs, they apply advanced mathematics to engineering challenges, from optimizing bridge stability and circuit efficiency to modeling fluid dynamics and AI-driven systems.

Our second-year students work on a hands-on term project in the University Physics course. This allows for group work, creativity, and problem-solving skills to be developed. Students discover their strengths and how to become leaders.
