Jeff James

Jeff James is an experienced litigator practicing for the past 14 years. He began his career at the Public Defender’s Office in Miami, overseeing a large caseload that included homicides and other serious felonies and tried countless jury and non-jury trials. Mr. James then transitioned to civil practice as Associate General Counsel for Miami-Dade County Public Schools. In his role as Associate General Counsel, he handles a variety of cases ranging from automobile accidents, premise liability, negligent security, and wrongful death. Mr. James also handles administrative hearings involving personnel matters and bid protests.

Mr. James graduated from the University of Florida in May 2006 and received his Juris Doctor from the University of Miami, School of Law in May 2009. He was admitted into the Florida Bar in September of 2009. During his law school career, Mr. James was a member of the Black Law Student Association, the Director of Community Service for the Association of Caribbean Law Students, and a member of the trial team program. He was also a recipient of the Kozyak, Tropin & Throckmorton Scholarship.

Mr. James also serves as the trial team’s faculty advisor and coach. Mr. James has personally coached 7 championship teams. Mr. James has been awarded the “Coach of the Year” award on 5 different occasions. Trial is his passion!
