Professor Zekan’s Curriculum Vitae

Julianna Zekan

Visiting Associate Professor of Law Julianna Zekan holds her law degree from Georgetown University Law Center, Masters from Harvard, and Bachelors from the University of Pennsylvania. In her capacity as Assistant Attorney General for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Commerce she served as attorney advisor to Bureau Directors and the Deputy Secretary of Commerce, and as legal counsel to the Pennsylvania Minority Business Development Authority. She became an Associate at law firms in New York City, Rockefeller Center, and then on Wall Street practicing commercial law, before becoming a law professor at law schools in New York, Montana, and as a Visiting Professor of Law with Villanova University Law School in Pennsylvania.

Professor Zekan’s law review articles on commercial subjects continue to be cited as authority by other legal scholars and in court proceedings. As an active Rotarian, Professor Zekan served most recently as Lieutenant Governor and as District Community Service Chair in her Rotary District, and she received several Distinguished Service Awards. She served as faculty for several training conferences and is a faculty member with the Rotary Leadership Institute. Professor Zekan actively maintains her bar memberships in Pennsylvania, New York, and New Jersey. In addition to Contracts and Commercial Law, Professor Zekan’s professional interests include Native American Rights, International Law, and Peace Law. She is committed to Catholic principles, which include tolerance and inclusion, and helping to build the Catholic identity of St. Thomas University Benjamin L. Crump College of Law.
