Graduation Expo

September 23, 2019
12:00 p.m. 6:00 p.m.
Evelyn and George Goldbloom Convocation Hall

Prior to graduation, there will be a graduation expo, and date and time will be announced. At the graduation expo, students will have the opportunity to have their photos taken by Werner Kahn Studios for the graduation program and to order class rings and announcements from Jostens.

Students will have the opportunity to order individualized announcements and class rings. Herff Jones individualizes announcements by imprinting graduates’ names on the announcements.

Pictures of our graduates will be placed in the graduation program. We would like the program to include photographs of the entire graduating class. Werner Kahn Studios will be on campus on during the Graduation Expo, in Evelyn and George Goldbloom Convocation Hall to take photos. To help this process run smoothly, students must sign-up for a time slot by visiting the Photo Registration Page.

Graduation Regalia

Students must order their graduation regalia at the University Bookstore. Any student wishing to participate in the commencement ceremony must stop by the bookstore to be measured for the regalia by the deadline date.

The bookstore is open Monday through Thursday, from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m., and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Graduation Tickets

Graduation tickets will be available for pick-up around the third week in April. An announcement will be e-mailed to all graduates when tickets become available.

Presentation of Degrees

Candidates will proceed to the stage with their hoods over their left arm and name card in their right hand. The announcer will call out each name, and he or she will be hooded by the Dean and another pre-selected faculty member. A photograph will be taken of the candidate when the candidate is hooded by the Dean and another when the President shakes the candidate’s hand.

Photography at Ceremony

At the commencement ceremony, professional photographers will photograph all candidates a minimum of three different times including the exact moment when each candidate is hooded by the Dean and shakes hands with the President. Each candidate will be e-mailed a passport-sized proof image within five days of commencement, along with the opportunity to select from a variety of photo packages, with no obligation to purchase. For more information, contact Werner Kahn Studio at (305) 531-1872. Personal photographs may be taken only before and after the ceremony. Spectators and guests are not permitted in the aisles or on the main floor during the ceremony.
