Embedded Tutoring

Embedded Tutoring is when a trained peer tutor regularly attends a course to prepare to provide up-to-date, targeted support for a specific class taught by a specific instructor. Embedded Tutors act as model students during lectures, taking detailed notes and completing all reading assignments to demonstrate ideal behaviors for a successful student.

Other Tutoring Resources

Knack is the online platform GHSLC uses to connect academic support, workforce development, and community-building in one student-centered space. Instead of walking in and hoping a tutor is free, you can log in, see who’s available and when, and book a session that fits your schedule — whether that’s a one-on-one appointment or a spot in a group session, virtual or in person. It’s the easiest way to get the right help, right when you need it.

Student Tutoring Policies

  • Tutors are not permitted to complete any assignment for students. See STU’s plagiarism policy.
  • Come prepared with your assignment or study materials — this lets us dig into exactly what you need help with. Since a single session can’t cover a full syllabus, focusing on specific topics will make the time much more useful for you.
  • Students must sign in upon entering the center.
  • A Microsoft Form provided by the tutor must be filled out before or after the session.
  • Students must respect the study space and rules.
  • Tutoring sessions are usually no longer than one hour. If more time is needed, it must be requested.
