Bruce Ozga Awarded Presidential Medallion by American Culinary Federation

St. Thomas University congratulates Bruce Ozga, STU’s Director of Professional and Continuing Studies, on receiving a Presidential Medallion from the National President of the American Culinary Federation.

The award was presented on July 1, 2026, during the Presidents Dinner at the ACF National Convention in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Ozga was nominated for the honor by Thomas Russo, CC, Emeritus President of the ACF Miami Chapter and retired Gunnery Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps. In the nomination letter, Russo described Ozga as a leader who “exemplifies the highest ideals of the American Culinary Federation” and praised his character, integrity, mentorship, and commitment to advancing the culinary profession through education, certification, and service.

A proud and long serving member of the American Culinary Federation and an inductee of the American Academy of Chefs, Ozga has built a career rooted in professional excellence and service to others. His leadership has extended across chapter, regional, and institutional levels, including his work with the ACF Miami Chapter as Chairman of the Board and Certification Chair.

At St. Thomas University, Ozga has continued to connect higher education with professional advancement. In 2025, he played a pivotal role in establishing STU as the new home of the ACF Miami Chapter, creating a meaningful partnership between the University and one of the nation’s leading culinary professional organizations.

Ozga’s impact also reaches far beyond the classroom. Through his commitment to humanitarian service, he has helped organize student volunteers for disaster relief food missions with Global Empowerment Mission, reflecting the kind of practical leadership and community engagement that defines STU’s Mission.
