Immigration Panel at St. Thomas Law

St. Thomas Law  proudly leads when it comes to taking action that affects change on serious issues facing our community, state, and country. On Friday, October 19, we welcomed notable elected officials including Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, and other engaged community leaders for a substantive discussion on current and prospective immigration legislation and the impact on our communities.

The panel included Steven Forester from the Institute for Justice and Democracy in Haiti,  Adonia Simpson from the Americans for Immigrant Justice,  Randy McGrorty from Catholic Legal Services, Antonia Cancero who serves as Council Ambassador of American Immigration, and senior staff from the offices of Senator Bill Nelson, Representative Fredericka Wilson, Representative Alcee Hastings and Representative Carlos Curbelo.

The event was organized by St. Thomas Law Professor Michael Vastine, who serves as the Director of our Immigration Clinic and is President of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (South Florida Chapter).
