Research

Find links to journal databases, which can be browsed using the A-to-Z list or by Subject. Use Library Search to find books, ebooks, films, and government documents in our collection. We also have several Online Encyclopedias and Newspapers. RefWorks is a great tool for organizing your citations and creating formatted bibliographies.

Off Campus Access

When doing research using the resources available on the Library’s Research page while in the Library or on-campus, you will be able to access all of the licensed databases without having to login. However, if you access the same page from an off-campus computer, you will be prompted for your credentials, which are the STU username and password that you usually use to log into your STU user account.

Note: Only currently enrolled students or members of the St. Thomas University community have off-campus access to the Research databases.

How to login for off-campus access:

Select a database from the A-to-Z Databases, Databases by Subject, Online Encyclopedias, or Newspapers lists.

When you select a database, you will be directed to OpenAthens:

Select ‘St. Thomas University Library Click Here’

You will then be directed to to STU’s Single Sign-on, where you will enter your MyBobcat Username and Password

Please note: If you have problems to login contact OIT 305-628-6610 or helpdesk@stu.edu. Library staff cannot assist with login issues.

If you experience any problems accessing the databases after you have entered your correct credentials, you may contact the the University Library’s Reference Desk (305-628-6668) or the Circulation Desk (305-628-6667).
