On August 25th, the Cuban American Bar Association Foundation had its virtual 2021 Scholarship presentation. Three St. Thomas Law students received scholarships presented by CABA Foundation’s President, alumna Frances Guasch de la Guardia (1988), and CABA’s President, alumnus A. Dax Bello (2008). Dean Tamara F. Lawson & Assistant Dean Lourdes B. Fernandez were in attendance to support and celebrate the STU Law scholarship recipients.
STU Law’s Casey Amaya (2L) received a $5K Osvaldo Soto Scholarship, Danielys Cardoso Cervantes (2L) received a $4k Juez Carlos “Benito” Fernandez Scholarship, and Amalia Castro (3L) received a $2.5K At Large Scholarship. Eleven scholarships were awarded that evening; the other scholarship recipients were Columbia, FSU, NYU, UC Berkeley, University of Michigan, UM, and Yale students.
