MIAMI, FL (August 5, 2021) – St. Thomas University (STU) has added 14 newly accredited academic degree programs in time for class registration for the Fall 2021 semester.

The new academic offerings are:

“Miami is the city of the future, because it embodies the diversity, geography, and entrepreneurial spirit necessary to drive the local as well as the international economy”, stated St. Thomas University President David A. Armstrong, J.D. “At STU, our programs prepare students to take on the challenges of ethical leadership across a wide range of academic disciplines. The new programs launching in Fall 2021 further expand educational possibilities for new college students, as well as for adult learners ready to re-energize their careers.”

St. Thomas University recognized the national trend and predictions of growth in particular career paths including psychology, trade & logistics and fashion merchandising.

According to a recent Bureau of Labor Statistics study, employment opportunities for psychologists will double the average growth rate for the economy, and most jobs in psychology require an advanced degree. STU’s online MS in Psychology will meet this emerging need for accessible post-baccalaureate training in psychological science to prepare students for a wide range of career fields and vocations.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics also projects employment of logisticians to grow 4 percent over the next few years. With STU’s new addition of the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in the Trade & Logistics Management Specialization, undergraduate students will gain an in-depth knowledge of trade and logistics management concepts, best practices, and current tools of the trade that will enhance their career opportunities with respect to local, national, and international industries.

This program is also perfect for professionals who want formal training in supply chain management, individuals looking for in-depth training in specific topics such as procurement and logistics, current supply chain managers looking to enhance skills and advance their careers, and individuals who want to pursue career paths in supply chain management. Students will be able to provide local, national and global organizations with a competitive edge through lean, efficient operations.

St. Thomas University Fashion Merchandising major is an inclusive, business-oriented program offering students a comprehensive look into the fashion industry. The program will focus on the business side of the fashion industry where students will learn how to buy, sell, develop and market fashion products to a specific customer. The Miami-based university will provide students valuable unique learning and experiential opportunities during Miami Fashion Week, Miami Swim Week, tours of fashion companies and the opportunity to travel internationally every other year to fashion capitals of the world including Paris, London and Milan.

“All of the new program offerings represent exciting opportunities for our bachelors, masters, and doctoral students to succeed in careers relevant to industries projecting job growth and universal leadership,” St. Thomas University Provost and Chief Academic Officer Dr. Jeremy Moreland stated.

“Faculty across the university have crafted these innovative programs so students from all walks of life can advance into a range of careers and professions, ready for important challenges – both today and in the future,” Moreland added.
