International Admissions
International Credentials Evaluation
Applicants who have attended a high school or college outside of the United States are required to provide an official international credentials evaluation through one of the following recommended companies:
- InCRED (required for student-athletes)
- SpanTran ($20 STU discount)
- World Education Services (WES)
- International Education Evaluations (IEE)
- Josef Silny & Associates, Inc. International Education Consultants
International credentials evaluations are only accepted from evaluation companies recognized as NACES members or AICE members.
English Proficiency Test
All international applicants from countries where the primary language is not English who have not attended a U.S., UK., or Canadian school must demonstrate proof of English proficiency by providing one of the following test scores:
- Duolingo: 84
- TOEFL iBT: 60
- TOEFL Essentials: 6.0
- Cambridge English: B2 First, C1 Advanced, or C2 Proficiency: 162
- IELTS: 6.0
- PTE: 43
- SAT: 960
- ACT: 18
- GRE: 158 (Verbal) and 4.5 (Writing)

I-20 Documents
Before being issued an I-20, international applicants must be admitted to STU, pay a non-refundable $200 enrollment deposit, and provide the following documents:
- Statement of Financial Sponsorship
- Passport Photo Page
- Bank Affidavit
International applicants that are transferring from a U.S. high school or college must also provide a SEVIS Transfer Eligibility Form that has been completed by the admitted student and a DSO from the transferring institution.
International Scholarships
Academic scholarships are offered to new undergraduate international students, based on GPA. All admitted students will be automatically considered for these scholarships based on the information provided on their application.
- GPA of 3.6+: Up to $13,000
- GPA of 3.0 to 3.59: Up to $11,000
- GPA of 2.99 or below: Up to $9,000
St. Thomas University does not offer fully funded 100% scholarships and graduate students are not eligible for any scholarships.
